Frank Degen, EA Named One of America’s

 “Top 100 Most Influential People”

Annual Honor Taps Degen For Second Year

Washington, DC—(October 9, 2008) Frank Degen, EA, USTCP, has been recognized as Accounting Today Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People—an honor accorded him for the second year in a row—in the magazine’s annual event. The September supplement stated that a major a factor in Frank’s being selected from among the 1,100 candidates is his reputation as “the voice of enrolled agents”—both in the media and through his frequent testimony on Capitol Hill. He has testified on a variety of tax administration and tax practice issues, including the importance of regulating paid income tax return preparers.

Degen served NAEA as president in 2005-06, and is currently the association’s Government Relations Committee Chair. He is also the vice chair of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC). This council conveys the public’s perception of IRS’ activities and, as such, plays a significant role as external evaluator.  Frank’s achievements also include being a U. S. Tax Court Practitioner, where he is a non-attorney permitted to represent clients.
